The place, known through it lurid history as The Uptown Theater, can hold over 1000 people and will host all-age shows by touring bands that want to hit the Chicago/Milwaukee area. If you are interested in getting a show this Spring/Summer, contact us and we will forward all info to the party responsible for booking. News from the North, here is the latest from Jer: Well, with great sadness I must announce, The King Size Braces have broken up! Yup, one of the greatest Canadian Oi! bands, has called it a day due to personal differences. If you've never heard their CD "Land of Broken Dreams", man, what rock have you been under?? It's killer from start to finish. Don't have it? Well get yourself a copy of "Scene Killer 3", and turn up their track "Fallen Heros." Look out in the future for something new from members of King Size & the Hudson Falcon's drummer extrodinare Ben Glotzbach. Aside from that, there are a ton of great bands popping up all over Canada. Riot 99 out of Toronto are back in full swing with thier new line up and are playing a ton of shows in support of thier debut 7" "Destroy The City." Great pogo '77 style stuff with aggressive vocals. Another band that has been keeping busy is Toronto youngsters, The Class! They've just released their debut CD "The Class...Hate You!" Now this is punk rock!!! They've also got a comp. in the works called " Toronto v.s. Edmonton." So be on the look out! Last but not least outta Hogtown, are the Class Assasins! These guys are also on our Scene Killer 3, and have just released a 7" called "No Justice, NoPeace." Check it out!!! A band out of Alberta who deserve mention would have to be The Wednsday Night Hero's who are touring in support of thier debut self titled CD, and let's not forget Knucklehead who've just put out there third full length "Voice Among Us." It's some of there best stuff to date. They'll be heading out on the road in Febuary sometime. Montreal's Oi thugs, The Prowlers have got an awsome new disc called "Here Today, Gone Tomorrow!" Nope, no bullshit here! Just straight a head sing along Oi! Watch out for these guys, they mean business! Dropkick Murphys are going to be playing a couple shows on St. PatrickŐs weekend at the Avalon Ballroom. One of them will be 18+ and the other will be all-ages. Both shows will be recorded for a possible live record, the band hoping to keep it together for posterity as opposed to this time last year. "We recorded last years shows but they were our 5th and 6th shows in 3 days and some members of the band were drunk so we basically sucked. So this year we'll try again and we'll be good and ready God dammit!"
